power loss 2.2L

Hi all
Recently my 00 2.2 has developed a power loss/ miss when gas tank is over 1/2 and appears to run normal under 1/2.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Re: power loss 2.2L

I would start by checking the fuel filter to see if it is plugged, which would restrict fuel flow and cause your "power loss".

Cheers

Re: power loss 2.2L

Mike
I'm going to replace the filter as a cheep/quick check. But it was kinda confusing when the problem seemed to solve itself when under 1/2 tank.
Would have thought that full or 1/8 tank the same pressure/volume would be present at TB.
Also the MIL light started flashing but NO fault code set would have thought with a flashing MIL a code would have been retained.

Re: power loss 2.2L

This sounds like a fuel system problem to me. If you want to troubleshoot it yourself, saving paying a mechanic too much, start with the least expensive and work your way up. Change fuel filter (why not, will have to be done at some point anyways), check fuel system pressure, fuel pump relay, fuel pressure regulator and then finally if all else fails check the fuel pump. I have attached a link to another thread that will explain the above in more detail.

Hope this helps a bit and good luck.
