Re: whats a good alarm?

Check into those made by DEI...

The three lines I'd look at are Python, Viper, Clifford (all the same, just different looks...)

if you have never installed an alarm i wouldnt try. they are pretty complex and should only be installed if you know what you are doing. you can easily fry something and mess up your car. most places sell them with install already in the price.

Re: whats a good alarm?

Ditto that what sportin83 says. Alarms themselves are not that complex but newer cars are. Anyone can install an alarm but only those in the bizz know little tricks of the trade that you need to know. Also, they know how to diagnose problems while the newbie or DIY'r won't.

BTW, I have 2 DEI Python alarms for sale if you can find someone to install them for you. One is a Python 871xp with remote start/alarm. It has 2 remotes with one being a 2way LED remote.

The other is the highest quality alarm DEI has. It is a Python 900. It too has a 2way remote but with the next generation LCD screen. You can do all kinds of stuff like adjust it's sensitivity from the remote. If you are going to hardwire your carputer, you can even get it to turn it on via the remote!
