I would like to remove the VCR from my 2000 Venture and replace with a DVD player but am unsure where to start... how do I remove the VCR?
Then.. is there any specific DVD player that I need?? |

Did same thing to my wife's van. Pull out the small cubby hole above the vcr to get to the support bracket screws, it's abit difficult but there are two small screws at the back you need to remove. Then there are push locks that go into the bottom of the vcr from the lower cubby hole that need to be removed (just behing the top lip). I used a mirror and a small flat blade screwdriver to pry them out, it does require quite abit of force as they are not meant to be removed. as far a dvd player goes any 12v player will work, there are three rca connectors in the van (right & left audio, video). I put in a Pyle player in and have nothing but problems with it. I'm planning to replace it with a slim playstation 2 that is capable or playing dvd's and the kids video games. A new playstation 2 is about $150 and most 12v dvd players are starting at about $100 and 12v adapters for the playstation 2 are about $15

Re: Removel of VCR in 2000 Venture
We got a DVD Player to replace the VCR in our 2000 Chevy Venture, but it is a lot smaller. Is there an install kit that you can get to make it fit? Thanks!
