Question Knocking Noise

Hey all,
I have a 2001 Cavalier. I recently got adjustable lowering springs on the car. Since then, when i turn the wheel i hear this knocking noise(sounds like it is by drivers side front wheel). I have seen some post on here with the same knocking noise and i have seen peolpe saying it was a cv joint or bearings. I dont know if this is it or is it just because i got the springs on.

Also when i got the springs on i had the shop put on my rims. could it be something with the rims?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Paul

Re: Knocking Noise

i would believe those that say it is the cv joint casue i think they said that when lowering ur car will put stress on some parts and the cv joint is one of them.

ya I had the same with mine. The clunk was not real loud just annoying and it did not sound as tho it was coming from left front it was just there somewhere . If I remember correctly I could feel it abit in the steering wheel when it did it. Anyway got the shaft changed and problem solved .$105.00 Canadian (from dealer) for shaft and an hour labour at garage.

P.S. Gm mech told me this was an issue with these cars
Note : this does not necessarily mean that this is orginal poster`s problem as it sounds as tho it may be an installion issue or other F.E. problems
