91 Grand Marquis fuel problems...

When I try to start my car it will crank but never fire and the gas needle will come up to the proper level then fall forward past Full...does anybody know what my problem may be? Car has a full tank of gas so I know thats not the problem, and if it does start it will idle fine for a second and if I try to give it gas it will cut off. Somebody help please...becasue I'm lost

Have you checked the condition of your cap,rotor and coil?
