here is my idling problem -VIDEO-

http://media.putfile.com/240sx-idle

note, i was not touching the gas pedal at any given time, from start to finish.

The car idles just fine, its probably a little to low at stop lights at about 600rpms but its fine and always runs perfect. Except when starting a car after it cools off, for instance the next morning. I changed spark plugs, changed fuel filter, still same. Timing is fine, last thing i think it could be is the fuel pump, doesnt pump enough fuel to the jets after it sitsand dries out a little? pump doesnt make any noise like its broken or anything.

also ill end up getting a new battery and probably a new started, because it does sound like its struggling to start. Ill see after the new battery what happens.

The rattle in teh video and car sounding like crap is because my stock exhaust is rustest through where the resenator is and its just hanging there. Im in a process of getting a new exhaust. As soon as i get my tax return. Id say in 2 weeks tops i should have a new exhaust cant wait!!

Re: here is my idling problem -VIDEO-

no it wasnt the fuel pump, its been so long i dont even remember if i fixed it. i did replace the O2 sensor, cap and rotor, upgraded to the 300zx fuel filter, changed plugs and wires, and that solved pretty much all the idle/run/emissions problems i had... you could try taking it in to a shop, most places will look at it for free because they think you want them to fix it.

sorry i cant help much

Re: here is my idling problem -VIDEO-

when it's cold is it hard to start? if so it is possable that your injuectors are leaking now into the cyl and making it hard to start .. as if it was flooded..Also if you can get a fuel pressure guage.. you can check your fuel pump and your injuectors just by watching the guage

Re: here is my idling problem -VIDEO-

had same prob, i took the maf out and sprayed it with carb cleaner, then used compressed air and blew it out.

then locate the idle air control valve on passenger side rear of motor behind mani, and run the idle screw in all the way, and back out, it fixed my prob completely

had a friends car do exactly same, so i did that to it, and it fixed it also.

good L

Re: here is my idling problem -VIDEO-

spraying maf not bad, just dont use an iron fist, all your really trying to do is get the surface dirt and crap off of it, the carb cleaner emulsifies the crap, and the air blows it away. ive blown out several, plus my z32 one with open resistor, and never had a problem.
