Please Help me car is acting weird

My car is an 94 LHS runs pretty good up until last week.I will be driving the car and all of a sudden it will stall and the oil and cruise light come on. When I pull over to the side of the road and let it sit a min or 2 It starts right back up. Had the computer checked did not solve the problem. If anyone knows what this could be please I beg you to email me back I have a 3 year old and dont want to get stuck anywhere in this [email protected]

Re: Please Help me car is acting weird

does it make any unusual noises? how many miles are on it? There could be numerous things that can cause this, does it feel like it's jerking of stumbling?

Its does have alot of miles but its an old car,it does jerk which could be the tranny slipping. But it has done that since i had the car in 2001. I read somewhere else it could be the cam sensor or cam shaft I dont im not an mechanic. Thanks for your response

Re: Please Help me car is acting weird

now that I've thought about it, you're right, it could be either a bad cam or crank sensor. Have someone look at that for you to make sure that is what the problem is.

Re: Please Help me car is acting weird

I had a very similar problem with a 95 LHS. I kept driving it until there were codes in the computer and to retreive them you simply turn the ignition on off on off on and leave it on without starting the car. the check engine light will flash a sequence of numbers and give u codes. hopefully 94 is the same.
any way one of the codes was for EGR valve. I cleened the egr valve and replaced the gaskets. and it worked fine. eventually i had to repace the valve all together along with the eet solenoid that comes with it. If your car has full electronic tranny and it is stuck in 2nd gear you are in limp mode and usually the wiring harness for the tranny has to be fixed or replaced.
