2001 Ford Taurus heater went out
The heater went out on our 2001 Ford Taurus. The air conditioner works but what should I start checking for?

Does your Taurus have the Electronic Automatic Temperature Control (EATC) or manual (knob) Heat/Vent/AC system? Does the blower motor work (I'll assume it does since you say the A/C works)? Do you just not feel warm air, or no air at all? Does warm air come out of any vents, including the ones at the base of the windshield or near the floor? What does your engine coolant temperature guage read? Is your coolant level full? When you change vent positions from dash/panel to floor, etc, does the air get diverted properly? The more details you can tell us, the better chance someone will have at being able to quickly suggest a remedy. -Rod |

Manual Knob Does the blower motor work (I'll assume it does since you say the A/C works)? Yes we get cold air and the A/C works Do you just not feel warm air, or no air at all? no warm air, although sometimes by moving the knob from cold to hot it will kick in Does warm air come out of any vents, including the ones at the base of the windshield or near the floor? It is cold. See above answer What does your engine coolant temperature guage read? I think it is normal Is your coolant level full? I'll check When you change vent positions from dash/panel to floor, etc, does the air get diverted properly? yes The more details you can tell us, the better chance someone will have at being able to quickly suggest a remedy. |
