Question Integra makes vibrating noise when started!

Every time I start my Integra, a loud noise sounds for about 5 to 10 seconds. It's kind of a fast vibrating sound or quick rattle. I think it's coming from the side under the hood (ABS unit perhaps). I just know it didn't used to do this, and I would appreciate anyone who could give me some advice. Thanks.

Yea mine does it too. It has done it as far as I can remember, but I haven't had any problems with it to date. But if anyone knows if this is a big problem some help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Does it stop after 5-10 seconds or just quiet down? Do you both have stock airboxes? Any other problems under the hood?

Yes, it does make the noise for about 5-10 seconds and then it just stops and goes away. I have noticed that sometimes when I'm stopped at a light, I begin to hear it again for 5-10 seconds. I don't know what stock airboxes are, but I don't recall having them or reading about them. No other problems under the hood that I know of. Thanks.

Stock airbox=the box where your air filter goes...hehe

Can you pop the hood and have someone start the car and get a better idea where the noise is coming from? The only reason I ask is because it could be a whole slew of things...

i know what you are talking about, you turn the car on and there is a buzzing coming rfom the right side of hte engine compartment (if you are sitting in the drivers seat) for maybe 4 seconds or so... and VERY rarely while driving.... i was once told it was the ABS pump. it has done it ever since i got the car at 88k miles, its now at 102k... its always done it and everything has always worked fine, including the brakes.

actually, if someone that knows their ABS brakes and their integras could they please comment on this and whether or not it is normal? like should the ABS pump really come on every single time you start the car?
