Ive got a wrecked 89 supra turbo (motor, tranny, rearend still in great condition) and a 85 corolla LE with a blown motor. With some major modifications, would it be possible to shove the supra motor into the corolla? any help would be great

How good are you with a welder?

Re: Is it possible?
Anythings possible with time and money. Why not just pick up another supra shell though and drop the engine in that?

Re: Is it possible?
Everyone says it because it's true. Even with talent/skill you still need money. Even if you do all of the work yourself you still need funds for materials, supplies, and all of the little parts that pop up during the coarse of a project.

Re: Is it possible?
Woah guys, no need to start an argument. I just wanted to know. im ok with a welder, i got a buddy whos REAL good with one. the reason im asking is because i think it would be awesome to have a corolla that can eat cobras and 350z's. I found a twin turbo kit online for the motor that would signifigantly boost the HP up. any more help would be good, thanks

Re: Is it possible?
If you can do your own fab work then it is more than possible. The easy way would be to use the front and rear cross members from the Supra and attach them to a square tube subframe. The front cross member incorporates the steereing, suspensoin, and motor mounts all in one nice neat package. The rear one incoroprates the rear diff and suspension mounts. It is just a matter of adapting them to fit the body. Some firewall trimming will have to happen.
You should cut out the rocker pannels and run some tube through there to link the front and rear of the car to stiffen it up a bit. Then you may as well cage it so you can run in the 10s without running into safty rules at the track. |

I can do my own fab work, thats not the problem. Im just goin to have to have my buddy re-wire the damn thing for me. how big of a square tube would be good for making a sub-frame?
