4g63 & 4g64 conrod differences

Does anyone know what (if any) differences there are between the 4g63 and 4g64 conrods? ie, size, length, journal diameter etc Are there any URL's with this info?

there is no difference whatsover.....it is excately the same part number ..1000 % positive on that one.....i have a turbo in my 4g64 with forged JE pistons....so i was thinkin' of changind rods but since they are excat the smae part number ...therefore smae excact rods - they can sustain about 350 hp or 20 psi....TRUST ME ON THAT ONE...

After some further research, I have found this to be 10000000% true - they are exactly the same, the difference is in the crank, deck height, and pistons between the 4G64 and 4G63.

Regarding the JE Pistons, what size over bore did you get and were they available off the shelf or custom made? I am looking for a set as well as forged rods.

As for power handling, I would think that 350hp (engine) would be easily attained before the turbo hit 20psi

i had my made custom and let me tell u - the first time JE screwed my pistons - and they were sticking out of the block - about 1/10 of an inch.
It took a long time to get the right one done, but finally they made it.

As far as my pistons they are low compression to fit stock ones custom made.
I am also running the JE rings with it.

I Think The 4g63 Was Used In Starions In Australia Versus The Stock(u.s.) G54b Motors Dont Know Why They Wouldnt Want
2.6l Unless They Wre Hot For Dohc Technology
Other Than That I Dunno.

Im trying to put together a 2001 4g64 engine with pauter rods. After installing a rod in # 1 cylinder the rod bolts are hitting the in side of the block in one direction and turning the crank the other way, the beam on the rod is hitting the lower bore of the cylinder not letting it turn. Looks like you have to grind the block to make them work??? any body out there done this??? three diamonds. 11/25/05, [email protected]
