Get this

I know you all are sick of hearing about my mp3 player, but listen to this:

I got a friend at school who has an mp3 player in his car. It was an older model, looked bad, but worked real good, and he got it at price. Anyways, point is, he had an mp3 CD-R in there, and I listened to it and it sounded good, so I asked if we could drive around and try that same CD-R in my car. It had 158 songs on it. I put it in my car, and BOOM!!! it played perfectly!! Rich, beatiful, uninterrupted joy on a CD. So I asked him:" what kind of software you use?" he says, Easy CD creator. Thats the same damn Adaptec program I used right of the friggen bat!! So I says, "damn! What kind of CD is that?" It was a Imation. Cheap crap. I don't get it man!! So I'm going off to CompUSA to get me a 25 pack for $5. I'll try it tomarrow and crap my pants if it still doesn't work. It will mean that there is something wrong with my BURNER HARDWARE!! That would bite. But moment of truthg tomarrow.

ps- whoever said it skips on CDs musta driven through a forest backcountry courdoroy road, cuz mine never skipped once and the streets here are pretty darn crappy!!

If this works, I can proudly say I love my MP3 HU and I got it for less than you lot! If not, I'll go cry somewheres...

how fast are u burning??? sumtimes thats the cause of the skipping... when i burn MP3 cds, i usually let it burn at 2x... try burning at a slower speed... its gonna take longer but it'll give u better quality i guess... i also heard there are differences in cd-rs... i had the sony cd-rs and it skipped too much... i read sumwhere it has to do with the dye that makes the cd have a blue tint... so now i look for cd-rs with a light greenish tint on the data side... those seem to always work nice for me...

correct and correct!!

however, even burning CD-Rs at 1x on light-green tint bottoms CD-Rs with the supposedly correct software(and everything in between) still does not allow me to play compressed mp3 files on my HU. This so sucks. I am waiting to see if this CD I burnt that doesn't work on mine works on a friends mp3 HU. If it does, goodbye AIWA, if it doesn't, something is wrong with my software/burner and I need to check it out.

so, what are your reccommendations for a better mp3 HU? I was looking at SONY. Its $70 more ($270). It has ESP and supposedly plays anything...

And I'll probably have to eat my words now... what was it that that one guy said? something about JINX ?
