its possible but not many people have done it. the reason? an evo head will run you more than $1500.

Re: evo head

you also will have to get a standalone of some sort as well to make it work. You can get an AEM EMS if you have a 5spd, otherwise you have to look for another standalone option.

the diff is that the evo head is a. A DOHC while the rs is a SOHC
b. The EVO head was disigned to have a turbo on it while the rs one wasnt

Re: evo head

sorry im bringing this one back from the grave here.. but I have a few questions.. The rs is the 2.4l sohc right? why do you need to put an evo 8 head on it? why not just put the eclipse 4g63 head on it? the intake manifold can easly be modified at a machine shop... if thats the case you could put the eclipse head on the car and use the eclipse ecu... and you would be set up with a turboed 3gen.. you could run on stock internals at least 8 psi..

Re: evo head

If you have the 3G 2.4 you can boost more than 8 on stock internals. If youve got the 3.0, then 8 is a good number.

Just a side note that has probably been discussed before, but because it pertains to me I kinda want to ask around again. I have a 2000 GT 5speed, and am seriously considering going FI. I know it is a personal opinion kinda deel, but should I go with tearstone turbo, or RIPP SC? I am leaning towards the stage 2 RIPP SC, and would probably start off with stock internals at about 9psi, and then upgrade pistons and whatnot to run around 14psi. Any thoughts?

Re: evo head

turbo makes turning up the boost like this...

*turn*

hahaha, that's wthe only thing i absolutely love

stock internals that are good on a 4cyl is 13 or so, but if you have a magical tune you can get to 15psi

the 4g63 head is oriented wrong to fit on it, the head must be off an evo4-evo8 and can also be off a hyndai of some sort that has a 2.4l dohc oriented the same way w/ similar stuff for much cheaper.. (check club3g.com it was somwhere)
