1988 Montero

Have a 1988 Montero,have replaced egr valve,secondary reed valve,distributor cap,rotor button new wires and plugs,also have set timing.and oxy sensor,but car will still on occasions backfire and continue to run after being shut off.(2.6L 2b carb manual transmission.Can anyone advise me on what to check next oh yea have replaced fuel filter and fuel pump also.

Hey Dude,

i just bought a 1988 Montero and can you tell me if it's easy to change the plugs, plug wires, distributor cap and handle basic maintenance.

Ask this question on 4x4wire.com's Mitsu tech forums. Numerous Mikuni carb experts there (it's the brand of carburator in your Montero).
