Re: Rear Brake upgrade on 92?
94 is the same. Binding and frozen sliders were the biggest issue, make sure the calipers release completely when the brake is released check this with the rear jacked up of course, the was a recall back when to replace the lower slider with a SS type to try and stop corrosion from forming. Also check for frozen parking brake cables also common.

Re: Rear Brake upgrade on 92?
Thanks...I put 2 new calipers back there...Just sometimes i have like half pedal before i have brakes then sometimes i have great brakes..Front brakes are new too pads, not calipers could one of those be sticking and not applying or not really a issue there? also i cut both cables back there as they were binding up and sticking...do they need to be hooked up to adjust the brakes properly or no?
thanks! |

Re: Rear Brake upgrade on 92?
Aha, the parking brake cables is how the rear brakes adjust, using the pb periodicasy will keep the caliper pistons adjusted properly. Replace them them.

Re: Rear Brake upgrade on 92?
I have wondered if that made a difference or not....So just replace the ones going to the calipers or the one going to the parking brake too? I think that oine is fine its the others that were corroded...And then how do you set them up how tight do you go on the cables to adjust everything right?
thanks!! |

Re: Rear Brake upgrade on 92?
The parking brake will adjust itself with a few applications of the parking brake pedal after the calipers are installed (assuming all the cables are free). The new (or reman) calipers you bought should have the new bronze guides installed that won't seize. Use your parking brake occasionally (hardly anyone does anymore with an automatic) to adjust the rear calipers and you should not have any more issues.
