Service Vehicle Soon
Have a 99 Pontiac Grand Am.
Few days ago my Service Vehicle Soon light came on. I took it to Midas on Saturday and they hooked it up to the machine. They said the machine didn't find anything recent, but said they went into the history of it and found something about the security. The guy also said the security light came on as well when they were running the test. He said they couldn't get in any further to that section to look further into it. So they were not able to do anything to resolve the issue. Is it worth taking it to a dealer to see if they would be able to get any further? |

Re: Service Vehicle Soon
might take it to the dealer. I hav the same issue right now with the SVS and I bought my GT from the dealer and they couldnt find out why my SVS light was one, or they aer lying to me and just didnt want to fix it.
Something that could be(easily overlooked) if it only comes on during the day a headlamp may hav a burnt high beam. Does the car run ok?

Re: Service Vehicle Soon
hmmmm, well my passenger side headlight burnt out, so maybe that is what it is. But it is funny because my driver side burnt out before that and i never got the service vehicle light to come on. The high beam does still work on the passenger side though. Ill try and change that and see if that was the issue.

Re: Service Vehicle Soon
the reason the high beam burn out causes the SVS is because your Day time running lights uses the high beams, and the car performs a check at start up. So if you hav a high beam its possible its causing the service light.
