Trouble Codes
Hi all, i have 3 OBD II codes and im not sure how serious 2 of them are. I dont have very much money right now so i dont wanna to repair them yet if i dont need to.
The first code is P0121 which is Throttle Position Sensor Performance. Next code is P0300, Multiple Cylinder misfire which i know i need to repair and not looking forward to it. Last code is P0404 which is Pd so not sure what the Pd means other than its pending, does it still need to be repaired? EGR Valve open pintle position. |

Re: Trouble Codes
It would be easier if you posted the engine size but let me see if I can help you. First the P121 indicates that the throttle position sensor is going bad and needs replaced. Second code multiple misfires can be caused by anything from bad plugs to bad wires/connectors or coils. Start with the plugs and wires/connectors before changing the coils. Much cheaper. Finally the pintle on the egr valve gets dirty and needs to be cleaned. Remove the egr and clean it with throttle body cleaner. Spray it well and clean out the passages to the manifold. This should eliminate the issue. If the valve itself is going bad then the code will reappear and you may need to change it with a new one. Good Luck.

The check engine light only comes on sometimes so its an intermittent problem. Whenever it does come on the ETS doens't work if that helps define the problem. |
