Lowering my 240 and need some advice

Some of you have seen my 97 that i just picked up and it has coil overs, and the guy said its lowers like an inch or 1.5 It has after market wheels 17" And tires are 225/40/17 wich are lower than stock, stock is 205/55/17

Well here is what im trying to do. I want to get new shocks and springs, no coil overs for me. KYB shocks with Eibach springs. I cant decide on if i should get 1.2 front and 1.0 rear or 1.7 front and 1.4 rear. SInce my cars height is not stock i cant really see how how it is stock to see how much room i can use. I want to get 18x9.5 rear and 18.85 front 275/35 and 245/40 and probably roll the fenders just a bit, but i dont want to be right on the tires, one finger gap sounds about right.

Im just not sure if 1.2 /1.0 will be low enough, and the 18s with tires will fill the gap or should i go with 1.7/1.4 or will that be to low and i will rub the tires over even single bump?

thanks for your time

nick

why dont you want coilovers? i think thats the first time i've ever heard anyone say they want to ditch coils for a spring setup? I would say, stick it out with the coils, get some RUCA, and drop it another 1/2 but thats me

Re: Lowering my 240 and need some advice

btw...275's will be very tought to fit if your going for flushness...like i said before I would go 255's max on a 18x9...heres a picture of my 17x9 rears with 255/40's

sorry for the crappy views but its all i got...if you want some other pictures just let me know...if your planning on waiting a few weeks for the springs wheels ect, i can show you what 255/40's would be like on a s13 tucked

Re: Lowering my 240 and need some advice

hmm

I saw a 97 240 the other day, he had 18s with 275/35 on the back and 235/40 on the front, it looked sooo nice, and the rear tires were not sticking out at all. On the S14 models maybe the rear quarters have more room for bigger tires than S13s?

and the reason i dont like coil overs is because im not the adjusting type, i just set a height and like it. No need to adjust them up and down all the time. thats just my opinion.
