93 GAGT 3.3L Rough at Idle

I just replaced the stock ignition coils with Summit Performance GM replacement coils, Installed Magnecor 8.5mm wires, and Autolite Double Platinum plugs.

The motor now runs a little rough at Idle. I double checked all the connections and firing order, all checked out. Double checked the Gap before i installed the plugs.

The only thing i can think of that could cause the rough idle is the new plugs are different from the previous set that the old owner installed. Previous ones were Bosch Platinum +4, all were worn some, but fine with the exception of the number 6 plug was fouled a bit.

Only thing i haven't checked is the timing, as i need to borrow a light.

Any thoughts on what might be causing it to idle rough?

Re: 93 GAGT 3.3L Rough at Idle

The question might be why all the parts? However, the most common culprit electrically for rough idle are:

1) Dirty Mass Air Sensor (on top of the throttle body, remove and clean very carefully)

2) Bad plug wire (feels like a tranny problem at times, oddly enough...)

Good hunting...
