Your opinion? Image Shack vs Photobucket

I'm curious about your opinions, experiences and scorings for imagehosting sites. The 2 most popularly used seem to be Imageshack and Photobucket - because they are free?

A year ago when I joined AF I looked around for a hosting source and tried out IS, PB and also MyFotki - I finally setled on IS for reasons I can't really remember (MF had a size limit on free hosting IIRC).

I've been using Imageshack (Imagehovel as MPWR calls it ) for over a year now and have been pretty much satisifed apart from some major downtime problems about a month ago.

What I like about IShack:
+ Fast uploading
+ Good and clear presentation of images and various code formats
+ Fast code generation
+ IMO relatively rare server issues
+ zip file batch uploding

What I dislike about IShack:
- No archiving in albums possible. Finding older inages is HELL ON EARTH!!
- charges for batch loading

I also have an MF account which I don't use beacuse it is full.

What I like about MF
+ Lovely album structures - easy to logically file pictures and retreive easily

What I dislike about MF:
- Paid for service
- IMO fairly slow server but not tragic (compared to IS)
- Complicated image uploading

Just visited the PB site for the first time since then and it seems to be something of compromise between the other two albeit quite slow. Is that the case? What do you guys think/use/recommend?

Re: Your opinion? Image Shack vs Photobucket

well, i do like both and i agree with your points but i use a different website..

www.tinypic.com

it can upload 250K and a good selection of picture types

and you can also upload videos

but if i were to choose between those i would choose image shack

Photobucket: multi image uploading: i like it. On the other hand IS give you some more features like thums.

I use PhotoBucket. It is really easy to keep your pics organized.

I must admit, I use Imageshack because it takes no registrating or whatever. And they don't send e-mails. Cool! But you're right, you can't really find old pics back.

I use PB, and as for speed, cant really tell. I have dial up so everything is SLOW. So far I really am happy with all aspects of PB including the little slideshow feature and never had any reason to try any of the others.

Re: Your opinion? Image Shack vs Photobucket

Imageshack does the job, so I never looked elsewhere.

Why is this in the Hot or Not section? It has nothign to do with AF.
