Dallas area - need Pin 42 turned on - know anyone?

Like the title says, looking for someone other than a dealer that can turn on Pin 42 for my electric fans...Anybody know of a performance shop or anything that can do this?

Re: Dallas area - need Pin 42 turned on - know anyone?

Between 5 and 6 hours from where I'm at. But my wife has a sister down that way, so I may just wind up taking a trip down there and going to Nelson's. Not sure what he would charge...

Call him and tell him what you are after. I will be in Waco Thursday if you want me to bring a PCM your way......save some shipping cost.

Re: Dallas area - need Pin 42 turned on - know anyone?

Happy to say I have to go to Austin and San Antonio tomorrow for work, so I'll be getting Pin 42 turned on while I'm there. Yee-Haw!

Re: Dallas area - need Pin 42 turned on - know anyone?

The 42 pin can be set to 12 volts when the engine temp sensor behind the water pump hits a designated temp. The other voltage comes from the A/C compressor on. Thus you get 1 fan on low with temp signal only, 2 fans on low when the A/C is on and both fans on high when the temp and A/C signals are both on. That is how the Nelson Harness is set to work.

Re: Dallas area - need Pin 42 turned on - know anyone?

Unfortunately, just getting the pin turned on. But that's good enough for me (for now). Every dealer I called either didn't have a clue what I was talking about or was giving me outrageous prices and saying they would have to "keep it for at least a day". Riiiiiight...

So anyway, I'm pretty happy just to be getting that part done with. Then this weekend, I can install the fans.

Someday though...the tune....

You can justify the tune in the money you will save if you get a MPG tune......
