Question Car starts but nothing is on?????

I have an 02 Alero and this is very strange. I insert the key and turn the ignition to "acc" and I get the normal radio, windows, etc. Turn to ingnition to "on" and nothing. Continue and turn the ignition to "start" and the car starts but nothing is on. No instrument, no radio, no fan, no lights. After a period of time everything comes to life. As a side note this does not happen all the time.

HELP!!

Scan the computer for codes and then post them here so someone can help you remedy the issue. Autozone will do it for free and tell you what the codes are, make sure to write them down.
