Fuel Display

Hi,

i have an question.

How much of fuel is inside the car, when the needle is on the red area, by an 1998 Lumina with 3,8l...

There's really no way to tell, gauges vary wildly from one car to another, it's meant as a refence, not an actual measure.

I've driven mine for a week in the red, then put 5 gallons in and it read 1/2.

Then from there it takes 9 gallons to fill it. Crazy.

My rule of thumb with any GM has always been if you see the needle move at all when you turn the key on, you've got at least 25 miles left in it...

If I had to take a wild guess, I'd say you'd have 3-5 gallons in the red
