talking about removing the governor

i think we should be able to talk about removing the governor if we wanna talk about it...and the thread gets locked everytime someone brings it up...Removing the Governor
"If you know how, and someone asks, feel free to explain. There has been a change in the stance of the AF Management, and it has been deemed acceptable to discuss it."
A Quote from KustmAce...if someone wants 2 remove it thats their stupidity..i dont and i know y people wanna stop others from doing it but its not anyone's place to tell ppl what 2 think and not 2 think...not everyones gonna feel the same way and think the same thing(thats how nazi's came around)...this is a forum which means its a place for ppl to talk about cars and discuss car related issues(such as removing the governor)...just my opinion and i know im gonna get flamed for it so bring it on cuz i know others think like me

Re: talking about removing the governor

and i dont know about anyone who has hit their governor or not...but when racing someone...when you reach the limit (my car specifically) shut completly down and didnt give me any power back to the car until 100 MPH...for a brief 7 MPH i had no control over my car...id rather have it off and not need it then need it off and run into a major problem while driving that fast

Re: talking about removing the governor

first of all, unless you drive a tractor or a lawn mower, you dont have a governor (i never get tired of saying that), moving on, it doesnt bother me when people ask how to remove this, what bothers me is when some dumbfuck says "if you cant trap 108 in the quarter mile you dont need it removed" well who the fuck said anything about the quarter mile, maybe the guy asking just wants to make the 30 mile drive to work a bit faster (and a bit more homicidal), im not gonna argue with you when you say your car shuts off till it gets down to 100, however mine only shuts down till 105, (just bounces from 108 to 105, back to 108, then back to 105) and in that second or 2, you dont lose total control of your car, your steering still works, and your brakes still work, (even though the power part, or the anti lock part might not work, the brakes DO still work) you do not lose control of your car, alot of people say (and i say from experience) when they get their cavs that fast and go to press on the stock brakes, the car almost starts jumping up and down like its about to fly off the road, well if your dumb enough to go that fast on a road where you might need to slam on your brakes, maybe you deserve to fly off the road, (or maybe you should just find an area where you wont need to slow down in a hurry) thats just my 2 cents....

Re: talking about removing the governor

the speed limiter is there for a reason. The car is designed to go any faster. You also dont need to go that fast. I dont want a bunch of 16 &17 year old drivers racing around the streets at 108+MPH in a cavalier. I guarantee there will be alot more wrecked jbodies. The car just isnt built to go any faster, the brakes, the suspension, hell even the tires on a Z24 are only rated to like 120MPH. The other ones are like 110MPH. Do you understand what happens when you spin a tire faster than what its rated for? It explodes violently, and causes the car to crash violently.

Im not as affraid of the kid who wants to remove the speed limiter to race as i am the guy who wants to remove it to make his drive home quicker.

uhh yeah actually it is, ever hear the saying knowledge is power? Well people who know how to remove the limiter have the power to control the people who dont. You might not think its our place to tell you what to do, but we do.

Thats like saying if someone came in here and asked how to committ suicide a fast and easy way, we should tell them because its not our place to tell them what to do.

Its not our place to tell you what to do, and its not our place to tell you how to do it.

This thread should be closed, its a waste of space and time.

Re: talking about removing the governor

ur right and wrong...yea ur right, we should tell them the dangers of doing it and what could happen if we do and all that...but once u take it over the edge and start flaming them, telling them there stupid....noobs and all that retarded redicilious shiit....the thread becomes pointless...in which case your probably just gonna make him/her do the mod even more just to prove you wrong...so y not just add your comment/opinion and leave it at that

this exact phrase....no disrespect....is totally and completely wrong
the saying "Knowledge is power" applies to ppl that learn knowledge and then use it 2 better their lives blah blah blah....
saying you have the power to control the people who dont know how to remove the limiter isnt true...u dont...if they dont find it here they will find it somewhere else and you have no power to tell them no...y not tell them THE RIGHT WAY to do it V.S. they get it off a google site that tells them an unsafe way to do it...
if you mean that the people who know how to remove the limiter have the RESPONSIBILITY to warn otheres...than your headed in the right direction...

Y lock the thread? its just a freakin conversation...its not gonna hurt anyone to keep it open

Re: talking about removing the governor

whatever, im not telling anyone, i doubt anyone else here who knows it will tell anyone either. Its a stupid pointless mods that only helps further Darwins theorys of evolution. Its pointless to discuss cause the information will never be leaked to the ones who dont need it.

Jayson and I agree on very few things. This, however, is one of them.

Not to mention, creating threads about locked threads is against the rules.
