2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo

Hi, i was wondering about 2 things,

The factory alarm system, what features does it have? Is it activated by the keyless entry remotes? Does it have shock sensors? What sensors or triggers does it have? (as my local dealership isn't sure). I'm looking for an alarm but prefer for it to be controlled by my original key remotes.

The steering wheel remote radio controls, can i have them installed in my Laredo? About how much would you say a dealership would charge for that? 1 hour labor and the 2 switch parts?

Re: 2002 Grand Cherokee Laredo

The factory alarm system on a 2002 only monitors the doors and hatch.
It also disables the ignition. It is activated by the DOOR LOCK button on the remote, also arms if you lock a door by the interior lock switch.

If your Jeep did not come with steering wheel radio controls you would need to wire it at the least, maybe even a new steering wheel.
I can tell you its not a easy switch - the steering wheel controls are integrated electronically with the BCM. (body control module.)
