98 lx civ sputter take off
well i posted on this civic while back, telling everyone i bought it and it had sat at least 3 years 80k miles on it and all..
Im out driving in it, i have ran new oil, injector cleaner and all trough it.. Well check engine light hits and it starts sputtering on take off sorta of a bog down once you get up past so many RPM's it quits but it seems like its lost power big time... I know i can take this to autozone or whatever to have the check code read, but i really dont wanna drive it autozone is like 5-6 miles away and i dont want it to break down or whatever on me on the way... My guess is from sitting so long could be fuel filter-pump needs changed, plugs, wires, cap, all that good stuff.. Anyone have any other suggestions i should do to it since its sat so long.. later |

Re: 98 lx civ sputter take off
well i checked the code myself came back to (14) EACV, so i buy a whole Intake manifold used since it was cheaper ($40) then 165 for sensor..
I took my whole TB off and cleaned everything besides the sensors put it all back on the Intake mani and disconnected battery and then ECU, check engine light is off, but at start up it idles around 900 then works its way up to 1500 and will idle like that forever... I tried adjusting the idle down but it was all the way down.. All vaccum lines look to be good, whatelse could be causing my 1500 RPM sit still idle.. any ideas.. |
