RPM Madness!!
I drive a 92 Golf GL...
For a couple of months now, it has been idling really weird:
It feels like the accelerator gets stuck, but it doesnt. The RPMs jump to about 4 or 5 x1000, and generally stay there. This tends to fight me when i come to a complete stop, and screams when i put it in Neutral or Park. Sometimes i can rev it a little bit and it'll drop back down, but then it'll fluctuate between 10 and 20 RPMs, never staying steady.. While driving, its like cruise-control: I'll slow it down, and it'll automatically bring it back up to 50MPH or so..
Incidentally, i had air-flow problems a while back and had the computer replaced with used one...
(I would like to think that this is unrelated since the idle problems didnt occur until a few months after that...)
Any thoughts?
