i must be a little crazy, or so the people that tell me that i am crazy. i am swapping my ka a/t for a s14 m/t. i am haveing a little problem that i am sure many many people have asked in the past. but i will ask it any way. the question is does any one have pictures of the wires that i need to (modify, cross, connect) to have my car running right. with the m/t trans. The s14 sr20det engine comes with the ECU uncut wire harness and ignitor chip. i have the clutch pedal and brake and master cyclinder and the slave and hard line. so can anyone give me greater detail as to how to get the car running no problem. and help would be great.

Re: 1991 240sx a/t swap to s14 sr20det m/t
o.k. You've got a lot of work to do. I did an auto to manual conversion in my truck. It was very hasty and a shotty job. (I was pissed, it was taking time away from my baby 240) In short I ended up taking the selector indicator off of the side of the transmission and placing on my dash so that I could tell the computer what gear I was in, in order to have reverse lights, correct idle, and be able to start the vehicle.
I will never do an auto to manual conversion again. It's tough man, stick to it and be prepaired to do a whole lot of extra work. It's worth it tho, as A/T vehicles got beat on a whole lot less. You might have to run new wires for the clutch pedal switch if you have one of those yet. My guess is Using the wires going to that "gear selection indictor" on the side of the auto transmission, figure out: 1: which one is Neutral, hook it up to the neutral switch on the M/T 2: which one is reverse, hook it up to the reverse switch on the M/T That's one route, but is still probably not the best. I hope someone who's actually done this properly can help you out.
