93 Lumina Rear Disc Brakes

Heard a grinding sound from passenger rear brake so thought I would check things out. The left rear brakes seem fine and plenty of pad left. The right side inner pad was OK, but the outer pad was worn down to the rivets. I could not get the piston back down into the bore, although maybe I was doing it wrong. I was using a C-clamp, and alldatadiy.com says something about using a spanner tool to "thread" the piston back down into the bore.

But even more fundamental than all that, is that caliper bad? Or is the emeergency brake cable possibly siezed, causing the outer pad to wear prematurely as well as causing the piston to not go back into the bore? Should I just replace the calipers and pads and hope for the best?

There is a special tool to get the pistons back in, it turns the piston while depressing it, check the sliders that was always an issue with this setup, they froze up and this caused premature wear or no operation at all.

ok yeah man do the cables and use that e-cable every day
ok just use channel lockign pliers and grab one of the cuts in the piston "must remove the pad"
turn it eother way but only 1 way will it screw back in
DONT USE C-CLAP only for the front NOT the rear
