Removing fuel hoses from fuel tank
I have a 97 explorer sport and Iam trying to replace the fuel fill neck because it has rotted out and is leaking when I fill up. The fuel neck is clamped on to two rubber fuel hoses which run to the fuel tank. I need to replace the hoses also (cause the fuel neck line has busted inside the fuel hose). Can I remove the hoses from the gas tank without any problems. I know I need to run the gas to almost empty but is the tank under any sort of pressure or something else.

Re: Removing fuel hoses from fuel tank
i had to change my fuel filter on my 97. when i removed the lines that connected from the gas tank to the fuel filter only a little bit of gas had spilled, and only if the line was pointing down, so my conclusion although not positive is that you should be ok removing the lines just bring a bucket...
