Proof I'm not crazy

At least about this issue.
Since I can't post attachments follow the link to a photo of the EST wire on my 95, 3.1, APV. You will see that there are no spade connectors on either side of the multi connector. I have seen the photos of the proper brown and black wire with spade connectors from the manuals. My car doesn't have it.

I can install my own spade connector in order to bypass the circuit. I need confirmation of one thing. When I ground the circuit to the chassis I am assuming that I am grounding the distributor side of the circuit and not the computor side.

Now for a trivia question or two; Was 95 a bastard year and we did things differently than the previous years, decided it didn't work and went back to the previous design in later years.

Did my vehicle get the wrong harness from the factory?

Did the factory space the spade connectors?

Did 95 have some different way to bypass this circuit?

Thanks for all who have helped with this issue. Especially he whom I have pestered the heck out of in P.M.

Yes, your van is a bastard year. Check your emissions label on the underside of the hood, and at the bottom it should say something along the lines of "this vehicle conforms to EPA "blah blah blah" OBDI or OBDII specification. IF it's OBDI, it's the bastard system.

Re: Proof I'm not crazy

Yes as it turns out it says OBD 1. It even states that the bypass circuit must be grounded but doesn't tell you how when there is no connector.

So back to my original question. I am grounding the distributor side of the circuit and not the computer side, correct?
