How 'bout one of these in your Lumina?

This engine is ready for production, being made by a company that builds clubman cars, a specialized type of racer.

The motor as pictured weighs 210 pounds, is a 2.6 liter and produces almost 380 HP! It is based on the Suzuki Hayabusa sportbike's inline 4 1300cc motor. A special block and crank were developed, and it uses 2 of the 1300 heads. Redline is 10,700 rpm.

I am in awe.

THAT is AWESOME!!! Where did you get the information on that thing? That's crazy that it's a V8 too... The power curve must be shit though, being mostly high-end like that of an F1 car. I wonder what kind of low end torque it produces...

More info!!!!!!!!!

Actually, the motor produces an incredibly flat torque curve, staying near max almost through the entire RPM range. Obviously, it's not a big torquer though, more suited to light vehicles.

This dyno run was from one of the first runs after bedding in, the exact fuel maps and intake/exhaust setups were yet to be worked out. It has produced higher numbers in different configurations....

Re: How 'bout one of these in your Lumina?

God I would hate to see how much lower those numbers get below 4k RPM... It's pretty much exactly like an F1 car engine. It would be totally useless in real world applications becuase you woul dhave to stay around 10k all the time for maximum power. It would be an awesome engine for something like a airboat or something that is direct drive.

Imagine one on a go-kart!!
