Left Turn Signal

I have a 1995.5 Rodeo. My left turn signal stays on, only when I turn my head lights on. With headlights off the turn signal works fine. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Re: Left Turn Signal

1. if you have a trailer harness unplug it.

2. pull the bulbs and change and/or clean them.

Do you mean all the bulbs?

Did you just get this Rodeo or has it just started doing this? Vehicle history helps.

When you say the turn signal stays on do you mean it blinks continuously or just stays solid?

Could be oxidation on the bulbs or sockets, a problem in your trailer wiring (as Ryan suggested) then again it could be a bad combination switch.

Light stays solid. I've had it the past two years, only had to change starter and that was two months ago. Front left turn bulb was blown and I replaced it with a brand new bulb. The rear left turn signal stays solid when I cut on headlights. With headlights off , works fine.

You may have put the wrong bulb in the front turn signal socket. You can try switching the two front bulbs and seeing if the problem moves to the right side.

Update, swapped bulbs and all, even replaced with new ones, same problem, but also with out the headlights on, and I hit the left turn signal, the left turn signal flashes like its suppose to, and the right front side marker and front fender flashes also. With headlights on the left stays illuminated.......any ideas.

Re: Left Turn Signal

2001 4wd V-6 Rodeo LS

I just had the same thing happen to me today. I replaced the drivers-side bulb (since the old one wasn't working). The bulb works fine. In fact, everything works fine, except, when I turn on my headlights the left turn signal (dashboard) comes on and says on (solid not flashing).

Any ideas?

Re: Left Turn Signal

i think it's time to start tracing wires. strat form the bulb and work you way back. look for pinches, rubs, etc. check all connections, switches, relays.
