Water Leak Under Dash 94 Golf

Hi, I am having trouble with water leaking into my car from under the dash whe n it rains. It seems to be coming from the sides but none in the center. It isnt the heater core because it is brand new. There must be some bad seals somewhere or something but I have no idea where to start looking. ANyone else had this problem? Any suggestons? thanks

Re: Water Leak Under Dash 94 Golf

which side?
Place dry newspaper on both the driver-s side and passenger side to determine where the problem is.

It could be tricking in from the windshield pillar seals or even the front plastic cowl below the windshield

Re: Water Leak Under Dash 94 Golf

i checked the platic cowl. I checked all around the blower and its all sealed off. I sprayed water on it to see where is was coming from and its running down both pillars. So Im thinking its the weather stripping on the doors and if ont it must be the windsheild leaking.

Re: Water Leak Under Dash 94 Golf

On a 94 - it could be both
If the water is closer to the top of the kickpanel - my bet would be on the windshield seals
If closer to the runners (or doors) - it would be weather seals.
