Intermittent starting problem
I'm experiencing an intermittent starting problem on my 2000 Intrigue 3.5V6 GLS. Intermittently when I turn the key, nothing happens - the engine does not crank. After turning the key to off and trying again, the engine will crank and start perfectly. This is happening infrequently, but I expect it will get worse. Today, it took 6-7 tries before it started. After it started, the service engine soon light came on after 2 minutes of driving. When I drove the car a few hours later, it started perfectly and the service engine light went out after driving for 5 minutes. Any thoughts?
Thanks. |

Re: Intermittent starting problem
It's more than likely the good old fuel pressure regulator problem. The good news is that it costs under $100 to replace.

Re: Intermittent starting problem
since your service engine light came on get your ODB2 codes read. Some auto part places will read your ODB2 service codes for free (call ahead and ask).
This could be an ignition switch thing also. Write down your ODB2 codes and post them here. |
