Arrow 97' 5.0 AWD noise

The truck runs fine. There is a noise coming from the front driver. The brakes and all plates/caliper, guide pins have been replaced. It does it worse in reverse, or while turning at low speed going forward. It's really bad while turning in reverse.

sorry

The noise in previous post is more of a constant grind and slight vibration. The other thing is that when you put it in 1, instead of overdrive, there is now a whine mixed with a grind and even more of a vibration coming from the front drivers side . The brakes work perfect.

The grinding would point to the wheel bearings going out. So I would replace those. As far as the whine in first gear that sounds like a tranny problem. I would get the tranny checked by a reputable shop in your area. Good luck and let us know how it goes.

This sounds like the same problem I'm having on my 99. Did you fix your problem yet?

Post 98' Awd Has Grinding Noise Also

I have replaced the driver's half drive shaft to the right tire. Thought that the CV joints were bad. This did not solve the problem. Finally I took out the front drive shaft and now the noise is gone.

I ordered a new drive shaft for the front, but the new one had the same play and feeling as the one I took out. So I put the old one back in. Was working fine for about a month now.

Just yesterday the grinding started up again, like something is binding up. Is it the front drive shaft, or is it something else?

Please Help......
