Hi all....
In the replacement of a radiator, I lost estimate of 10oz of transmission fluid from the cooler lines. I have no dipstick to check levels and am concerned about having lost this amount of fluid. I have figured out how to add the fluid but my concern(s) are:
1) Owners manual indicates that it is not lifetime tranny fluid. Dealer says otherwise and wants to charge $1000 to drain and fill ( $128 per gal. for the fluid ). I checked w/ a reputable BMW repair shop and they indicate that it is not lifetime fluid on this car. So, can I add Dexron III to the existing fluid without doing any damage. I do not want to be putting in another tranny on this otherwise beautiful car.
Your input is GREATLY appreciated.
By the way Shade Tree Bill....thanks for your response to my other post regarding "o" rings.
