stuck in park --- parking pawl?
95 Lumina APV -- will not roll (even in neutral). When moving between drive and reverse, each gear engages (the van rocks in the right direction) but it feels like the parking pawl is stuck.
Is the pawl controlled mechanically or electrically? Doesn't appear to be a cable or linkage issue because the range selector on top of the tranny moves as it should and the back up lights still come on in reverse. Replaced the tranny a couple of years ago & hope to never do that job again. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

Re: stuck in park --- parking pawl?
The end on the parking pawl rod has been known to pop off which could extend the length and cause issues.

Pulled the pan. A broken piece of another gear was stuck in the pawl. Tranny job next weekend --YUK |
