idot light for oil keeps coming on.

My dad found me an 01 PT Cruiser , and for some reason the oil light comes on when i'm driving down the road, along with a chime, and i've checked the oil level and it's fine. Any ideas as to why? Thanks Jacee

Back in the '70's, chrysler had bad sending units, lots of oil pessure and a red light.
I'd suspect the sender, but i wouldn't drive it much 'til I fixed it.
I'm assumming you're not hearing strange mech. noises form under the hood?

Is your oil level a little high? If it has too much oil it can cause the light to come on also.
