a4ld tranny

hi new to this site was hoping to get a little feedback I have a 91 mazda navajo (same as the 2 door explorer) reverse went out of the tranny but have all foward gears. need to know if tranny out of an 86 aerostar will work there both a4ld but mine has push button overdrive and the aerostar is gear slelective any input is greatly needed thanks

There is 2 different bell hsg styles,,,also early was hydraulic o/d apply later units were ecm controlled,,,main case other than cannon plug will work,,you have to change cannon plug and use your valve body,,,,,better yet if everything works other than rev,,,the rev band is in trouble,,just get it fixed.
early units were kinda crappy,,,later units ,,,better engineering just plane better!!!!!!
