Good god, Primera Man your the Second Kiwi Iv caught posting Stupid Questions on a forum this weekend. Its just not good enough!

That is an Air Ioniser. Installed in a lot of Japanese cars (hence thats a pic of an Import Slomera) There ment to keep the air freash and healthy when your stuck in a Japanese Traffic Jam with the Air Con turned up. I dont actualy think they do anything benificial other than make a soothing buzzing noise, but Thousands of Japanese swear by them, which is why there fitted to most Imports sold in NZ. (which is why you should know what it is! )

Yeah i thought they must have something to do with cleaning the air in the car, but never seen one either that big or mounted in the back tray.
