Will a 96 PA hood release cable fit a 91 PA?
Hi folks,
well the title pretty much says it all. I've got a broken hood release cable & lever (on the interior end) on my 91 PA, and the only spare I've been able to locate so far is from a 96 model. The PA's had the same body design thru 91-96 so I hope the cable is the same but would like to hear if anyone can confirm if it will fit? I've tried looking for a OEM parts listing to find out if the number would be the same for both cars but no luck so far. Thanks in advance |

Re: Will a 96 PA hood release cable fit a 91 PA?
i don't know from experience, but consider this:
91-96 was basically the same car. The only changes occurred in the engine selection, and interior and exterior trim. Various other things occured, such as a relocated glovebox to accommodate an airbag, a different style emergency brake, and a few other minor things. None of which should have affected hood release cable routing.

gmpartsdirect.com shows different part numbers for the release cable.
The '96 is 25642196, says it fits '93 to '96. The '91 is 25540156, says it fits '91 and '92. Can't see any pictures. It may not work. |

I fit a cable for my 92' from a 94' at the boneyard. Everything fit fine between these years..

GM is known for changing part numbers. If there is any discrepancy, I'd bet it to be between the 92 and 93 models years though
