Water Injection...

These are the two kits I've been looking at.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/WATER...41506831QQrdZ1
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Water...39905819QQrdZ1

The Coolmist is more of a name brand, comes with a 2.5 quart tank, but only has 100psi
The Becool has 150psi pump and no tank (no big deal)

I want to order one this weekend, and install it with my new FMIC, Dsmlink & 14b at the same time. The Fuel system is stock (450cc) for now untill I get my aeromotive 13109, I have a walbro 255hp and rewire kit sitting around waiting to get put in..

I was doing some math and with my injectors on this 14b, and was thinking 300cc nozzel would work fine... Anyone help would be fantastic.. Thanks.

Re: Water Injection...

What good does water injection do?

If it were me, I would do the lesser-name brand. You could always make a tank, but you couldnt exactly make an extra 50 psi and though I dont know anything about water injection, that seems to be a fairly sizable difference.

Re: Water Injection...

Whats the difference between water injection and like cryo2 besides what they spray? do they both basically just cool the incoming air more?

Re: Water Injection...

Neither of those links worked for me. I plan on getting a water/alcohol injection kit at some point. I was thinking of making my own kit but it will probably cost about the same. I've heard it's best to use alcohol instead of water. You can use cheap-ass windshield wiper fluid because it's 99.9% alcohol and some dye. Also cause i couldn't see those kits do they have boost switches? cause below like 15 psi it would be useless.

Re: Water Injection...

The cooling mist one comes with a boost switch...and basically water injection its a more sophiscated form of cryo2. The point of it is to stop knock.

Re: Water Injection...

Water injection for now. It will be used as a tunning tool untill I get everything dialed in. After which I'll convert to Alchy. Water has roughly 7 times the heat absobstion. Its sprayed into the charged airstream cooling off the air while it anidised into the combustion chamber with the fuel, where it really does it's job cooling the combustion chamber!

I'm unsure how long I'll be running distiled watter through my engine, but it will be untill I get extreamly furmilure with Dsmlink.. They both have 1-25psi boost swithces. I'm leaning 90% twords the coolmist 100psi kit w/ tank. I-emailed coolmist and asked what performance diffrences are between 100 & 150 psi pumps. I seriously doubt I'll need the 150 on a 14b.

OBTW: Smirf Piss is actuall 49% H2o 50% Alch to keep it from freezing and 1% blue die!

Chryo o2 is spayed onto the Intercooler to increase its heat trasfor, and increase its intercooler effency. Water injection is a knock suppresent Tuning tool that reduces Charged Air Temps, combustion temps & steam cleans your engine. Alch is a power agent, it's octain rating is around 113 and 'can' increase power by as much as 20%, but it's prone to detination and requires knolegable tuning that I dont possess at this time!

I also asked cool mist for a Group Buy request... Anyone here intrested...

Re: Water Injection...

I'm going to be doing this soon so I can safely run 22psi on stock injectors. You want water injection to keep the engine from knocking, and it will also allow you to run a lower octane gas w/o knocking.

Re: Water Injection...

If you'r on the dSMlink forums already, search for the thread by the guy running the T67 and MEthanol injection. I'm almost positive it was Lokmeup. He's running the same 65 lbs/min airflow and trap speeds I was on the 2g, but on pump gas and methanol injection! Unreal. Logs are included in the thread too. I believe he settled on direct port injection, 75% methanol/25% water, and a 20% flow rate relative to fuel (based on injector IDC). Not a simple plug and play system, but the results are extremely impressive. I would read up on as much as you can find in there.

I have.. I'm not to proud to admit the Dsmlink fourms are a bit over my head from time to time! But thank-you!
