Question Watching DVD's on your Navigation Unit???

Does anyone know if you can enter a code on 04 model non-touch screen navigation unit that will allow it to play DVDs and watch them while you drive? I have heard that as long as it is a pre 05 unit you can. But tI have also read that to make our Nav unit do this you have to buy a interface unit for around 250. Any thoughts?

Nope, can't be done on 2003-2006 GM fullsize trucks/SUVs w/ factory nav...touchscreen or not--or if there is such a code...it must be one of the best-kept secrets of all time! Only way to watch (not "play"--technically, two different things altogether) DVD movies (or other video sources) on the nav screen is by getting the video interface adapter.

You might have been thinking about the Caddy SRX--the nav unit available for that SUV allows for DVD movies to be played on the nav screen (in Park only, though).
