95 Lesabre overdrive shudder/vibration
I have a 95 Lesabre with 96,000 miles. During highway driving when the tranny shifts into overdrive I can feel a slight and brief shudder/vibration. I do not feel anything simular when down shifting. Any ideas?

Re: 95 Lesabre overdrive shudder/vibration
This can be an engine uder load or a poor TCC engagement issue. It can be hard to diagnose. Do you feel a shudder when accelerating up a grade , say, at 50 or so when the tcc is engaged? If not, you should have trans scanned by a trans tech who can commnad tcc and check slippage and pressures.

Re: 95 Lesabre overdrive shudder/vibration
I agree with Maxwedge on the miss after engagement, however if it is during engagement, you may have the valve body wear as described in the link below. The second link is for the intecepter, which will delay lockup until a higher speed is reached. This will make the misfire problem (if you have that) less noticeable.

Re: 95 Lesabre overdrive shudder/vibration
Have you checked your EGR valve? Had the same problem w/my 95 LeSabre (117,000 m)...especially when going up a hill. OD wouldn't disengage going up hills, had to take it in for an oil change-had mech diagnose the OD issue while it was there & it was a faulty EGR valve. Replaced the EGR & car is running like new!
