95 Monte Carlo Z34 Belt Question

For about the past month or so I would say, there has been a squeaky noise coming from the serpentine belt. I have eliminated the fact that it is not the timing belt, as it was replaced probably 6 months ago and looks fine. The serpentine belt looks fine as well, no cracks, no signs of wear and tear or anything of that sort. Today came and a new noise that started coming from the same area. When in park the normal squeak occurs, but when driving there is a new noise that sounds like a bike chain hitting the metal guard that covers it (not the best way to describe, but only thing I could think of). Do you think I should try replacing the belt for the heck of it, or could it be an internal problem? Any knowledge would be appreciated!
