1991 Rodeo fast idle

I have a 1991 Rodeo 5 speed with 170,000 miles on it. Recently the idle is going crazy, running around 3000 rpm while driving or when stopped. After driving it floods when shut off. I can't get the idle to go down. Anyone know what may be the problem?

Thanks so much

Re: 1991 Rodeo fast idle

Typical idle problem that just go up and down by itself is usually caused by a bad TPS (Throttle Position sensor) and another possibility is the IAC (Idle Air Control) solenoid. Both are usually located in the throttle body.
