2 part clears through airbrush

I know this has been discussed alot. But I was just wondering if anyone here shoots a 2 part clear through an airbrush. I have wanted to do this for so long but never had the kahones to do so. Can anyone please let me know how this can be done. Im mainly looking at spraying House Of Kolor or omni. Which ever is better. Thanks!

Hi, I only ever use 2 part clear and I shoot it through my Aztek a470 airbrush and never ever have any trouble, the only thing is when I'm finished I give my airbrush a thorough clean with cellulose/lacquer thinner and it's ready for the next time I need it. What sort of airbrush are you using? as a lot of airbrushes can't handle "hot" solvent based paints.

I use bi-component clear with my airbrush with no problems at all.

You should know what kind of clear you're going to use. At least some of them are acrylics, I'm using Dupont 120s and I can clean it with isopropilic alcohol with no problems.

Yes I've tried it a couple of times through my Iwata Revolution with no problems at all.

Nothing to it just mix up a batch to the right proportions, add some thinner and shoot away. Only issue I have with two part catalized paints is them picking up dust before they go off.

I use 2-part automotive clear thru an Aztek A470. No problems, BUT I clean the airbrush with carb cleaner (just like the 1:1 auto paint guys do).

I've been using it for some time now.The only thing I'll add is you may wan't to thin a wee bit more for the airbrush.And if you want it to dry faster then those little toaster ovens work well I'm told(pre heated).

I use automotive 2 part clear that I bought from an automotive paint shop, I mix it up with this ratio: 2 parts clear, 1 part activator, 2 parts fast dry thinner and spray at a pressure of 20-30 psi, I give it a couple of mist coats about 5 minutes apart then I re-coat after about 15 minutes with a slightly heavier wet coat leave it for another 15 minutes then spray the remainder of the mix with a touch more thinner, I've found through trial and error that using this method I can get a very high gloss finish without having to do any polishing what-so-ever, after about 2-3 days it's nice and hard and the finish is amazing. I also spray 2 part paint using the same method with great results, the good thing with 2 part paints is that there is no need for a clear coat, nice deep gloss straight from the airbrush or spraygun. Give it a try, you wont be disapointed with the end results.
As a footnote, use some breathing equipment when using this stuff as it's a bit on the TOXIC side and you'll get a headache that feels like this.
