Lighted Rearview Mirror and Wire harness - 2000 Neon

I am STILL looking for a wire harness and lighted rearview mirror to put in a 2000 neon. I've been told the part number for the wire harness for the 2000 and 2001 neon's are different and therefore can not be swapped. I've been able to find parts from a 2001 but not a 2000. If anyone knows of some body or some place I can get these, I'd appreciate it.

I've looked on Ebay from time to time and have only found universal mirrors - I want an OEM factory one.

Who told you that? The dealer should know. If they can't be swapped mayve you can splice the wires together to get it to work. Shouldn't be too difficult.

I work at a Dodge dealership and talked with the Parts Dept to find out what the parts would cost me wholesale if I purchased them new versus buying the parts online or at a salvage yard.

They compared the part numbers for that of 2000 Neon and a 2001 Neon and said that the wiring harness does NOT match and therefore wouldn't work to hook up a 2001 wire harness to a 2000 Neon.

I'm only paying for labor for our Service department to install the wire harness so don't want to have to start splicing wires to get it to work properly.

Did you actually look at them? Part numbers don't always match, but parts do. I have seen this before. If not, then good luck with your search.
