96 Grand Cherokee Laredo set clock on console
I just bought a used 96 Grand Cherokee Laredo and i am trying to figure out how to set the clock on the bottom console... where it gives you the date and time and shows if doors are open. i can hold the set button and then change the hour and all of the date info but it always skips over the minute settings. how can i change the minutes in the time? My jeep came with a cherokee manual not a grand cherokee manual so all the info is wrong. also has anyone replaced the automatic door locks yet. any idea how much that would cost? thanx for any help in advance

Re: 96 Grand Cherokee Laredo set clock on console
You're talking about the VIC (Vehicle Information Center)
Exact wording from my 1993 manual: Depress and hold the set button for 2 sec to initiate the time setting mode. Once in the mode single tapping of the Set button will allow selection of the appropriate hour. Depressing the select button will step the display to the next time/date function-minute, day, month, and date. Each function can be adjusted by tapping the set button. When all segments of the clock calendar feature have been set the display can be locked in by depressing the select button a final time.

Re: 96 Grand Cherokee Laredo set clock on console
ok so i went out there today after having replaced the factory stereo and it just worked fine. my only thought is the factory stereo must have been stopping it from working correctly. works like a charm now though. thanx for everyones input and help
